1. Don’t add “-s”, “-ed”, or “-ing” to modals - हम किसी Modal verb में -s, -ed या -ing add करके उसके मूल स्वरुप में परिवर्तन नहीं कर सकते अर्थात् Modal verb को अपने मूल रूप में ही use करना चाहिए। Examples:
1. He can swim…(सही)
He cans swim…(गलत)
2. She will go to the market…(सही)
She wills go to the market…(गलत)

2. Use 1st form after the modal verb - Modals के बाद हमेशा verb की 1st form आती है। इस बात का विशेष ध्यान रखें।
जैसे- You should go there…(सही)
You should went there…(गलत)

3. Don’t use helping verbs with modal verbs - Modals के साथ कभी भी helping verbs (जैसे- is, are, am, do, does, did, is, are, am, has, have, had…etc.) का प्रयोग न करें क्योंकि Modals ही वाक्य में helping verb का कार्य करते हैं।
जैसे- He can is lift the box…(सही)
He can lift the box…(गलत)
